Ricco the Recycling Robot is the cornerstone of the East Arkansas Regional Solid Waste Management District’s education program. Ricco provides information, in a manner that is both entertaining and relevant, to the general public. Special emphasis is given to presentations in area classrooms, on the theory that the best hope for future recycling awareness lies with the youth of today. Topics discussed include:

• recycling
• reuse
• waste reduction
• illegal dumping
• waste tires
• landfills

The objective of this educational outreach is to show the general public how each of these elements impact our lives and behavior. Ricco has appeared throughout the state of Arkansas, speaking to schoolchildren of all ages. He has visited trade shows and festivals in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas.
