Waste Hauler Licensing
The EARSWMD is required by Act 752 of 1991 to enforce a licensing program for all haulers collecting or transporting solid waste for disposal in the EARSWMD. The District issues a permit for each vehicle that hauls waste for hire within the District. The fees for permits, which are issued in November, are currently set at:
- $100 for trucks one ton and above
- $50 for trucks less than one ton.
Haulers using vehicles that have not been licensed by November 1st of each licensed year are assessed the full license fee, plus a penalty fee equal to the license fee due for the affected licensed year. First time haulers who apply for licenses after the November 1st deadline pay a pro-rated fee, based on the number of months remaining in the permit year.
